How to install WordPress

If Softaculous or WordPress Manager appears in your cPanel, open it and click Install - it does everything for you. Otherwise install manually:

  1. Download WordPress from wordpress.org.
  2. In cPanel open MySQL Database Wizard, create a database and a user, and give the user All Privileges. Write down the names and password.
  3. Upload the WordPress .zip to public_html with File Manager and Extract it. Move the files out of the wordpress folder into public_html.
  4. Open your domain in the browser and follow the installer, entering the database details from step 2.
  5. Log in at yourdomain.com/wp-admin.

After installing: keep WordPress, themes and plugins updated, remove unused plugins, and enable regular backups (see How to back up and restore your website).
