How to register or transfer a domain name
Register a new domain
- Open Domain Names, type the name you want and search.
- Add an available domain to the cart, choose the number of years and check out.
Transfer a domain to EgWeb
- At your current registrar, unlock the domain and turn off any privacy or transfer lock.
- Request the authorization (EPP) code from the current registrar.
- Make sure the domain's admin email is reachable and that the domain is not within 60 days of a new registration or a previous transfer.
- In our Domains page choose Transfer, enter the domain and the EPP code and complete the order.
- Approve the transfer email you receive. A transfer usually completes within a few days.
Do not change the nameservers at the old registrar until the transfer finishes, so your website and email stay online.
